Steve - sorry your still having trouble with the proxy. It doesn''t actually affect anything other than the Apposite package
manager - which will try to sync with the latest updates after install.
Off the top of my head I think the NKEE distribution will allow you to set the auth proxy setting at install. If you download
that you''ll be able to get it set up and updated to the latest. Get it here...
https://cs.1060research.com/csp/download/
Eventually the NKEE eval license will expire at which point the system is still useable but is an NKSE system.
Drop me a line and we''ll sort you out a full NKEE license. We''re more than happy to have academic use of NK and ROC. There''s
a ton of research opportunities I''d love to see explored!
Cheers,
Peter

But it still needs to authenticate.
Running under windows (netkernel.bat) and going to http://localhost:1060 I get an exception error message page.
In the terminal window I see:

My mistake, it did install but did not give me feedback to that effect.

Sorry, i wasn''t very clear.
To do an installation from the downloaded jar file you need to establish an internet connection.
In the installation, after accepting the licence conditions, you see a web interface with a place to insert a proxy and a
port number for going out through your local proxy. However, in my case this is an authenticating proxy so a username and
password are also needed.
This is a common problem for us, working within a university, as they want to monitor who does what on the internet.
P.S. I am very keen to take a look at this netkernel.
Thanks

Hi Steve,
Not quite sure of the context (windows/linux other platform?). Basically the answer is you need to fill out by hand your
proxy settings during install - or you can do it after install here:
http://localhost:1060/tools/kernelconfig
NK is as platform neutral as we can keep it and it becomes messy to introduce platform specific settings. NK also strives
to keep modules independent - the proxy settings are only needed for the http-client library.
Hope this helps.

Can I do it with system variables for proxy, port, user and password?
